Shadow of the Real World

A few musings from Kansas by a high school literature teacher. Over the past few months, this blog has turned a commentary on media. I will probably continue to focus on film and television, but books and music might sneak in... By the way - If you would like me to post on a regular basis - please comment, even if it's just to say, "Hi." If my audience disappears, I lose the motivation to write! Thanks!

For the bargain hunters

I found a site that those of you who are willing to work for a bargain might enjoy. It lists the sales that will take place on "black Friday." (That's the day after Thanksgiving, apparently.)

I might head over to Target or Walmart for a movie or two. But I'm not camping out to do it! If you are planning on making a large electronic purchase, this might be the day. You can look at several different vendors from this site.

I just felt like laughing…

This is the funniest bit evah!

(I was reminded of this by a recent episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.)

Oh Happy Day!

My favorite TV show in the whole wide world is finally coming to DVD!!
Beauty and Beast ran for three seasons in the late 80's/early 90's, and it was appointment television for me. Everyone knew not to call between 7:00 and 8:00 on Friday nights. :-) February 13, 2007 is quite the appropriate release date as this is definitely one of the most romantic shows ever produced. (Even if my dad did insist on calling it "that lion-man show." "Dad - quit getting in the way of the TV!!" Oh, those were the days...)

In other news, I started my novel tonight. I didn't get quite 1670 words, but I've gotten started, which is better than I've done in a long time.

This is for my brother!

How to save your wet cell phone.
I thought this might help someday! :-)
