Shadow of the Real World

A few musings from Kansas by a high school literature teacher. Over the past few months, this blog has turned a commentary on media. I will probably continue to focus on film and television, but books and music might sneak in... By the way - If you would like me to post on a regular basis - please comment, even if it's just to say, "Hi." If my audience disappears, I lose the motivation to write! Thanks!

Music speaks to my soul

Pandora.com is definitely the coolest thing I've found on the net in a long time. I love it when a perfect song I've never heard starts playing. Beautiful.

HI Dee! I did look at that website and I'll have to play around with it more when I get home. It seems really cool! Do you just keep adding artists or do they do that for you?

You keep adding artists and songs. You can have multiple stations with different themes. You can control how specific each station is by limiting the number of artists and songs the station uses as a guideline. You can also make really broad and random stations by having very different types of songs on your list. I've already discovered a few artists that I hadn't heard of before.

This is fun!!! The possibilities are endless. This is a music dabblers paradise. I'm especially having fun creating my own stations. They've done surprisingly well on recommendations! Very cool.
